Overall the team finished in 6th place (10 Teams). Of the 28 Rebel athletes competing, 27 had seasonal best performances and 18 raced to "Life-Time" PR's. Captain Mari Schlitter dropped her lifetime best to 16:44 and looks to duplicate this performance in two weeks at the Section meet. 9th Grader McKinley Moore moved up the pecking order with a "PR" and solidified her top 5 position on the team. Leidy Kasper, 10th, and Katie Herron, 9th saw huge drops in time with respective performances of 18:33 and 18:26.
Boys' Recap: Senior Kyle Richards and Junior JP Rose earned All-Conference honors in the boys' division of the NWSC Champs. Overall the team placed 8th of ten teams. Similar to the girls, the boys' ran for 21 of 22 seasonal bests on the year. Senior Chris Oleson running with a damaged right shoulder most of the season (note; two hits to the same shoulder at Swain...ouch!), ran a PR of 18:57 for the day. Rico Alexander now owns the #12 spot on the 9th Grade All-Time list with Joe Zwolski nabbing the #23 spot. Senior Chris Ho dropped over 63 seconds from his prior PR as did soph Nick Brady with a 67 second PR.

Swain Invitational Results, 2008

The infamous hill at Swain is now the infamous "hills", as the 2008 edition of the Swain Invitational unveiled a new course, with plenty of ups and downs.
Girls' Recap:Congrats to Stephanie Sjostrom and Cassidy Soli for their impressive victories this past weekend at the Swain Invitational. Both Steph & Cassidy set course records for their respective performances in the AA Girls' Varsity and Sophomore Girls' races. Overall the girls' team earned a 7th place finish in the Varsity race and 3rd place team finish in the Sophomore Girls' race. Katie Batters finished 19th as our #2 runner, Mari Schlitter 54th, Amanda Dvorak 65th and Carin Crego 98th place finishes for our #3-5 runners. Sophomore Jenna McElroy made a strong comeback after laying low for 10 days as our #2 runner in the Sophomore Race. Emily Huemann showed that she's ready to crack the team top 10 with her 26th place individual finish as our #3 runner.
Boys' Recap: Kyle Richards finished 5th behind 4th ranked Robel Kebede of Mpls South to lead the Rebels to a 17th place team finish. Not bad considering that we were without the services of #3 runner JP Rose and #5 Aaron Hauck. Captain Caleb Pheneger ran to a Swain "PR" with a 45th place finish followed by Kyle Rodeback in 73rd, Dillon Novak in 116th and a remarkable finish by our #5 Chris Oleson who hit the turf twice during the race. In the Sophomore Boys' 4K, the Rebels finished 12th of 20+ teams. Leading the way were Jay Alexander in 24th, Joe Zwolski in 57th and Nick Brady in 62nd. Running #4, 5 & 6 for the Rebels, were Jarrod Klopp, Brandon Johnson & Justin Jonassen.
