Girls' Recap: Second consecutive year that the team has moved up the charts finishing 7th in the 2018 race. 3 All-Conference-HM performances: Emily Lindell, Emma Berge and Atley Schreiner paced the Rebels. Our top 4 raced within 29 seconds of each other. Maggie Grossman #4 and #5 Greta Bahe rounded out the team Top 5. Our top 6 raced to seasonal bests on a new course design that was soft, wet and muddy! Newcomers Ashlyn Murphy and Erin Reardon paced the Rebel JV finishing 9th and 14th overall, with the team finishing 9th overall. Rounding out the JV scoring were, rookie Cassidy Peterson in 53rd, Rookie Ruth Eisenberg in 99th and veteran Zoey Adams in 98th. Of special note the top 3 Rebel JV earned Varsity Letters for their performances!
Boys' Recap: The Rebel Boy's Team raced to a 3rd place finish at the NWSC earning it's highest finish in 25 years. Leading the Rebels were All-Conference Runners Dontae Johnson-8th, Connor Preston-9th, Danny Kloeppner 25th and All-Conference HM Mark Scheller 34th and Ben Fischer-55th. Four of our Top 8 raced to Lifetime Best best demonstrated by Zac Oldroyd dropping 13 seconds on this muddy/wet course. Leading the JV Rebels to a 6th place team finish were Jonah Brixius-10th, Keegan Poston-26th, Kyle Ostendorf-33rd, Blake Olson-37th and Grayson Holtz-53rd. The Top 5 JV Rebels earned Letters for their finish in the Top 20%.
Overall it was an impressive day overcoming the hardship of a new course design, soggy track and cool temps. Overcoming a few mishaps like slipping or losing a shoe, running with head colds and allergies, I am proud to say I'm your coach !
