2015 Results: Luther All-American Invit.

Champlin Park traveled to Decorah, Iowa for their first appearance in the Luther All-American Invitational this weekend.  Starting the day off were the 8th grade foursome of  Jenny Omann-41st, Emily Lindell-42nd, Annie Miller-49th and Greta Bahe-51st in the Junior High Girls' 3200M.
Girls' JV 5K was next for the Rebels team with Jessie Wensel leading the way with a 75th place finish followed by Sydney Crandall-82nd and Audrey Whitman in 102nd. There were 316 runners competing in the JV Girls' 5K !
Boys' JV 5K  team had the highest finish for the Rebels overall - 3rd Place Team -  with the Top Five Rebels finishing amongst the Top 25 Overall.  Leading the way was Freshman, Eion Keran in 8th place followed by the tightest pack we've had for some time:  Drew Carlson, Corban Herman, Christian Stohlmamann and Peter Scheller finishing 21st - 24th repectfully.   #'s 6 & 7 for the Rebels were Tim Urvig in 31st and Matt Omann in 34th.  214 Runners were entered in the JV Boys' 5K
Girls' Varsity 5K saw the Rebels finish 15th overall out of 24 teams entered.  6 of the 7 girls' had lifetime personal bests.  Leading the way for the Girls' Varsity was Diana Glebova's 33rd place finish followed by Captain Jena Wachowiak in 40th and Sarina Lindell in 49th.  #'s 4 & 5 for the Rebels with sizeable PR's were Brooke Powell dropping 55 seconds and Claire Lund dropping 1:45 for her lifetime best 5K.  #'s 6 & 7 for the Rebels also getting PR's were Katheryn Opansky dropping 32 seconds and Rebecca Kolstsd dropping 1:19.
Boys' Varsity 5K team finished 8th overall out of 24 teams within 35 points of the 6th place team.  Connor Janostin  finished in the Top 25, finishing 24th overall.  #'2 -5 for the Rebels were Ian Ivens in 38th, Michael Volk in 40th ( with a PR), Luke Crandall in 52nd and Michael Urvig in 61st.  Tri- Captain Jacob VanHoutan was our #6 on the day with a PR of 40 seconds and Tri-Captain Aaron Kloeppner was our #7 on the day.
Great Overall Experience at our 1st attendance for the Luther All-American.  Ideal weather with the morning races contested in the 60's  with light breezes and blue skies.
