2016 Section 5AA XC Results

Girls' Recap:  Jena Wachowiak and Sarina Lindell led the Rebels Girls' Cross Country team with All-Section performances at yesterday's 5AA Championships.  All seven Varsity Rebels achieved either their all-time personal best or seasonal best, to secure a sixth-place team finish in a field of  105 individuals from 16 teams.  All five of the seniors competing now hold down five of the top 10 All-Time Rebel Performances for 12th Grade.   Sisters Sarina and Emily Lindell respectively are now #2 and #3 on the all-time lists for 11th and 9th grade.
Audrey Whitman, Atley Schreiner and Amelia Lund led the Rebel JV Girls' to a 7th place team finish in a field of 241 runners from 16 teams.  Audrey paced the Rebels with a season best, in a 33rd place finish followed by Atley Schriener in 43rd and Amelia Lund in 46th.  Nine of the thirteen JV Rebel runners earned all-time bests with their performances!
Boys' Recap: Captain Ian Ivens, Connor Janostin and Captain Luke Crandall led the Rebel Boys' Cross Country team to an 8th place team finish at yesterday's 5AA Championships.  Ian earned All-Section honor's with his 30th place finish, followed by Connor in 43rd and Luke in 44th.  Janostin ranked 22nd, went after a state qualifying spot, a worthy gamble,  but just didn't have that next gear to continue a top ten pace. All four of the seniors competing earned a spot in the top thirty on the Rebel All-Time list for 12th Grade. Ivens is now 6th, Crandall, 11th, Corban Herman 26th and Drew Carlson 30th respectively on the all-time list.  Janostin is now #3 on the 11th Grade List and Graham Johnson is 25th.
Mitch Kahl and Jake Jacott led the Rebel JV Boys' to a 5th place team finish in a field of 407 runners from 16 teams.  Mitch paced the Rebels with a life-time best, in 19th place followed by Jake in 27th, Mark Scheller (35th), Eoin Keran ( 37th) and Ben Fisher ( 44th).  Fifteen of the nineteen JV Rebel runners earned all-time bests with their respective performances !

Up next:  The Rebel Recognition and Awards Banquest, Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at Edinburgh USA.  Social hour will begin at 5:30, with dinner beginning at 6:30. Seniors are encouraged to bring a display poster of their cross country running career.  RSVP for the dinner is due Sunday, Oct. 30th
